CHICAGO - Open the doors... relax... but keep close to the script... today is the day where you can ask the 2014 McDonald's All-American players various questions - it's a day similar to media day at the Superbowl but without the super obnoxious questions with sexual comments primarily because they are still teenagers right?

Nonetheless, it's a good afternoon for access to the players as they prepare for the BIG game and reflect on their high school career and dream of what the next level will be like.

Top question on the afternoon was "are you one and done?"  During the afternoon session, I thought that was a homerun question but after thinking about it more, after hearing a couple of answers, who is really going to say "yeah I'm all for it. As a matter of fact, I'm not going to any classes after I meet the minimum summer stuff and fall class... woo hoo Road tide?"

At this time, the one-and-done stuff is a side bar, and another story is coming on that subject, but today, the players smiled and took it all in and we give them a solid 'A.' Great job job student-athletes.
JAHLIL OKAFOR & TYLER ULIS

“Growing up as a child I always wanted to play in this game,” Okafor said. “It’s going to be a surreal feeling. I’ve been to a lot of Bulls games but never played at the United Center. I’m probably going to have a lot of butterflies before the game.”
  ALEXA MIDDLETON

“It’s hitting me now,” she shared after winning two-events at JamFest. “I’m so excited for this opportunity. I’ve been so blessed to have this opportunity, and am so grateful to even be here. Everyone is going to go out there and have fun. I just want to go out and enjoy doing what I love.”

CLIFF ALEXANDER

"I wouldn't mind staying two years," Alexander said. "Stay and get better. I've been talking to my parents about it. Some guys leave and they aren't ready. They rush in and they're rushed out. I just want to take my time."

JAMES BLACKMON JR.

"I look forward to having more fun on the court tomorrow night..."

"I plan to work myself in to the rhythm by sticking to what I do best."

MYLES TURNER

“Its an amazing honor, just to be able to have your names next to these guys even on paper. It’s an amazing feeling and is something I have been looking forward to, and I am having a great time with it. I am just having a lot of fun.”

TYUS JONES

It seems like Adam Silver is going to put in a rule stating that you must play 2 years of college basketball before you play in the NBA. Have you given any thought on how that new rule would potential affect your career?

" You know I haven't thought about that a whole lot. If they decide to implement that rule, we are just going to have to go with it, there's nothing we can do about it. I think there will be a lot of people upset but that's not something that upsets me."

How special is it for you to be playing in the McDonald's All American Game, a game that Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, etc. played in?

"It's an incredible honor, just a blessing to be selected as one of the players to play in this game and like you said the names that have played in this game really kinda put it in perspective. I am really just excited and taking every moment and soaking it all in."
