NOTE: This is a CORRECTED edition of our post-game summary. Thanks to a caring, Hazel Crest Mustang parent (11/20/08).

The cold evening was capped off with two hard-hitting teams.. coming down the stretch, the Jets had a 19 - 0 comeback victory over the leading team in the American conference, the University Park Lions two weeks prior...  as for the Mustangs, they controlled the National conference on both sides of the ball finishing the season with not only the best record in their conference but in the entire varsity category and the strongest defense. Furthermore, they had to go to battle in their last game against the Markham Patriots which resulted in a double overtime victory to get to this point.  And well, the Jets and Mustangs faced off under the lights in primetime...

NOTE: Earlier in the season, week 2, the Mustangs won the meeting they had with the Jets 12 - 6.

This game exploded right off the top with a blast run by Hazel Crest' James Adams for the first score of the contest.

On their very next possession, the Mustangs found themselves in the end zone once more taking a commanding lead of 13 - 0 in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, the Jets made a couple of adjustments but the Mustangs made some too, and their defense proved to be too much for them in this contest.

Mr. Brenton Smith scored the third touchdown of the evening for the Mustangs.

And to cap the game off, Mr. Smith sprinted down the field for one more touchdown with a successful extra point by Mr. Cory Dalton.

FINAL SCORE: 26 - 0
