Two undefeated teams (1-0) squared off in the south suburbs Friday night and in the end, host team, Crete-Monee Warriors continues their winning ways from their Class 6A championship 2012 season as they knocked off Evanston 42-15.

Despite falling behind by a touchdown Friday night when Chris Little (234 yards, 1 TD) tossed a 35 yard pass to Sam Bordo, the defending Class 6A state champions got focused.

Quarterback Frank Douglas threw for 145 yards and two touchdowns in the air and one on the ground to lead them to a 2-0

In addition, the Warriors racked up over 340 yards of offense and kept the visitors out of the endzone consistently when it counted the most.

"We need to put together all three phases of the game to make sure we continue to our ultimate goal," first-year Crete-Monee coach John Konecki said. "We're scoring on offense, but we have a young quarterback and a couple of inexperienced guys. That doesn't mean they won't get it at the end. They're doing a great job, but we're going to continue to evolve offensively."
