  Cheer season is here..

 Cheer season has begun and we are making our rounds to different venues and host events.


  NEW WRESTLING RULES

Effective with the 2013-14 season, forfeits in high school wrestling will no longer count toward a wrestler’s daily match limit. Currently, wrestlers are limited by rule to five matches in one day.

  RICH SOUTH Girls’ Relay Team takes 1st Place at State

The Stars Girls 4 x 400 relay team took the gold during the IHSA State competition. This is the third consecutive State Championship for them. Before advancing to State, the Girls won the IHSA 2A Sectional at Hillcrest High School, where every varsity athlete on the team qualified for the State finals. Overall the Girls took 10th place out of 60 teams.  Other top-place finishers including Natasha Seymour who placed 5th in the 100 Meters hurdlers, Cierra Garrett, who placed 6th in the 400 Meter run, and DeAsia Garrett who placed 7th in the 400 Meter Run.

You couldn't have asked for better weather for outdoor sports than the weekend of May 18, as Illinois Elementary School Association hosted the 28th annual IESA Class AA Track & Field State Finals in East Peoria at the EastSide Centre.
