| The Wolfpack has a 55-53 lead with 3.3 seconds left when Pete Doerrer scored a layup. The Sting immediately called timeout in order to calm the players down and to draw up a play. Coach Ken Stevenson rallied the team together and put together a full-court play driven by D.J. Cooper, who blasted right towards the rim and laid the back up between two Wolfpack defenders as time expired. |
In overtime, it was all Seton running an 11-0 run to put away the game. The Sting (8-0) defeated No. 22 St. Ignatius 68-57 at Loyola University’s Alumni Gym on Friday.
“I don’t want to lose any games this year,” said Nixon. “I saw we were down. That’s what seniors are supposed to do.”
“This team just doesn’t want to lose,” Seton coach Ken Stevenson said. “They refuse to lose.”
