MARK YOUR CALENDAR: 2010 City-Suburban Showdown

MATTESON - Jereme Richmond and defending Class 4A runner-up Waukegan headline the field for the 2010 City-Suburban Showdown, set for Feb. 20 at the UIC Pavilion.

The Bulldogs, who lost to Young in the title game in March, will face Michael Shaw and De La Salle in the 8 p.m. contest. Richmond, a first-team All-State selection and the runner-up in Mr. Basketball voting, will enter his senior year as one of the top-rated players in the country. He has signed with Illinois.

Mt. Carmel, led by Illini-bound point guard Tracy Abrams, will take on Korney Darby and St. Patrick in the 6:15 p.m. opener. Abrams was an All-Catholic League performer as a sophomore last season.
