Rockets lifts off over LionsRICHTON PARK - Number 14 (SunTimes) Rich East (12-1) got started early and often over Leo (12-1) in the championship game of the Big Dipper basketball tournament in Richton Park. The Rockets opened up with a 15 – 2 lead and never looked back. The Lions did get as close as four points with a little over 6 minutes left in the fourth quarter but the Rockets lifted off offensively behind Shea Sumpter. In fact, they began a run of 16 -5 down the stretch. Sumpter finished the game with 22 points, 12 rebounds, followed by Bruce Collins and Ja’mere Dismukes who both added 13 points. Dismukes also had 10 assists. James Pointer led the Lions with 22 points. “I knew it was going to be a game of runs, but that first quarter, and the way we came out, gave our kids a lot of confidence,” said Rich East coach George Leonard.
