Crete 34,  Moline 2
Crete changed some things up Friday night against Moline... they introduced Trevon Smith, cornerback, to the offensive side of the ball in the 34-2 victory... He got his chance at running back after starter DeShaun Smith had to leave with an injury, and well, he responded with three touchdowns.

“I’ve been working hard and just waited for my chance,” Smith said. “Our guys up front made it easy. They opened some big holes for me to run through.”

The Warriors defense also played tough as nails... They held Moline to just 48 yards rushing and no first downs in the first half. and in the second half, they got deep into the red zone, but the Warriors stopped them 4 straight times....

“We were extremely disappointed with the way we played last week (at Marian Catholic),” Crete-Monee coach Jerry Verde said. “I thought we played with more intensity in the first half, especially our defense. I thought our defensive ends, Chris Slayton and Travelle Smith, shut down their outside attack tonight.”

NOTE: Marcus Terrell finish
ed 13-of-23 for 249 yards. You can re-play the game below care of HighSchoolCube.
