The RedHawks were red hot at Soldier Fields against St Rita as they snagged a 35-25 victory.

The chief objective of Marist's spread offense is to pressure defenses.

Senior quarterback Ian Woodworth (31-for-51, 286 yards, 2 TDs, 2 INTs; 2 rushing TDs) orchestrated poise and pure leadership.

"We wanted to play at our tempo, get right up to the line and keep them on their heels," Woodworth said. "We did our thing and I'm ecstatic with the outcome."

The RedHawks, ahead 14-10 at halftime, appeared to take control with two consecutive third-quarter touchdowns that earned a 28-17 lead, but Tim Lombard's second scoring run cut it to 28-25.

Marist put away the game by driving 80 yards for a touchdown on the ensuing possession, capped by Woodworth's second scoring run.

St. Rita was led by the play of John Kelley (12-for-21, 186 yards, TD, 2 INTs) and Tim Lombard, 10 carries, 25 yards, 2 TDs.
