#12 Homewood-Flossmoor 48, #13 Lockport 7
The Vikings were just too much for the Porters of Lockport as they knocked them out of the playoffs 48-7. Senior quarterback Tim Williams (331 yards passing, 3 TDs; 2 rushing TDs) connected with his favorite target, Sean Jones, six times for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.

"This is on the field and off," Williams said. "We've been doing this since we were 5 (years old). I trust him."

The Vikings got things started on their first possession, when Williams hit Jones on a crossing route, and Jones outran the Porters' secondary for a 46-yard touchdown.

Lockport scored their only touchdown on a short run by Sam Stramaglia, TD.

Then to make a statement before halftime, Jones got behind the Lockport defense. Williams found him for a 57-yard gain that set up Anfernee Roberts for a 5-yard touchdown plunge and gave the Vikings a 28-7 halftime lead.
"Coach gave me the mentality that no one can stop me," Jones said. "(Williams) knows where to throw it, and I know where to go get it."
In addition to their air attack, Williams and Roberts each chipped in two rushing touchdowns, including one in which Williams used his 6'6" frame to stretch the ball in.

The Vikings' defense keyed in on the Porters running game and this resulted into six sacks and two interceptions.

Homewood-Flossmoor will make their second straight trip to the 8A quarterfinals, where they will meet Naperville Central.

#3 Downers Grove South 41, #6 Brother Rice 14
This game was suppose to be a high scoring, field position competition, but that's why you play the game. Downers Grove South played their role, but Brother Rice didn't as they lost 41-14.

Downers South led 27-0 at halftime behind the play of senior Josh Williams, who had 121 yards and three touchdowns on 15 carries in the first half. He finished the game with 26 carries for 170 yards and those 3 TDs.

"I'm never surprised when we're up like that," Williams said. "When you execute and do what you're supposed to do, a good outcome will be set for you."

The Crusaders' miscues included three fumbles, in which they were not able to recover.

Up next for Downers South will be either Mount Carmel or Bolingbrook.

#3 St. Rita 28, #11 Andrew 13
St. Rita came into this game well-prepared and ready to make Andrews play their game... Well they were very successful handing them a 28-13 loss in the second round of the Class 7A playoffs in Tinley Park.

Early turnovers by the Andrew and the Mustangs' ability to run a two-dimensional offense were reportedly the difference.

"It's good to get the win and stay alive in the playoffs, and that is what you want to do," St. Rita coach Todd Kuska said. "A credit to them; it was a good football game."

Up next for St. Rita will be O'Fallon in the 7A quarterfinals.

Bolingbrook 21, Mount Carmel 7
Just too much.... Bolingbrook's quarterback and running back combination played big against the Mount Carmel Saturday night in the Class 8A playoffs knocking them out of the playoffs 21-7.

On the first play of the game, Aaron Bailey broke out with a 38-yard run with ignited the team to take the lead and never look back. Bailey finished the game with 159 yards on the ground.

But, the Raiders defense stood up for the challenge. They were able to keep everything in from of them including holding Brandon Greer under 100 yards.

"Our defense is stacked," Bailey said. "I call them the clean-up men. They clean up my messes. We couldn't score down there, and they went in there and cleaned it up. I thank God for them."

Up next for Bolingbrook will be Downers Grove South.

#2 Washington 15, #6 Rich East 12

Rich East just couldn't lift off against Washington in the Class 5A second round playoffs, as they fell 15-12.

The Rockets did show some desire and team-will as they rallied back from a 15-0 deficit. With 5:51 left in the game, Rockets QB Malcolm Miller option passed to Herbert Davis who tossed a 42-yard plus pass to a wide open Richard White for a touchdown which setup the their final score of the game ut definitely eventful.

The Rockets received the ball back and were less that 40 yards from tying the game, or winning it all when another costly mistake occurred. Miller tried to avoid a sack by throwing a ball up for grabs but it was snagged by Washingtons’ Mason Chockley.
