ASNN365 - As we stated in the Week 6 summary, several undefeated teams are still on top and other teams are trying to squeeze into the playoffs. On top of that, there were four sweeps and one game took three overtimes to complete.

NOTE: Be sure to check out the standings for Division champions that were updated this weekend.

Our game of the week was between South Holland and Markham. First and foremost, Markham family, thanks for all of your support and hospitality. We definitely appreciated it. These games had just about everything except snow... their was sun, gust of wind, rain blowing in every direction plus northerly, cold wind. It was definitely a typical Chicago fall day. Now to the games...

WIDGETS

In the opening contest, it was all J-E-T-S... They scored on their opening possession and Mr. Malik Harris scored twice by himself on two separate quarterback keeps. On one of those touchdowns, he showed a mean, NFL-style stiff arm. Mr. Brian Gray also scored twice on the afternoon, one for 55 yards, the other for 45 yards.  Final score: 27-0.

PEEWEE
Both teams were unable to get into the endzone during normal gametime regulation and it took overtime to decide. During the first overtime, both teams were able to score with neither being able to capitalize on extra points. The Patriots scored first on a half-back pass to Mr. Kameron Banks, The Jets responded with a quarterback keeper by Mr. Jesiah Jones.

In the second overtime, both teams clamped down on defense and held each other out of the endzone including Mr. Jones who fumbled the ball. But as previously stated, the Jets defense stepped up and held the Patriots from scoring. So, we went to overtime number three...

In the third overtime,  Markham had the ball first but couldn't move the ball passed the four yard line. On the change of possession, it took the Jets two attempts to get into the endzone and obtain the victory. Mr. Gregory Boyd kept the ball and ran hard up the middle for the win. Final score: 12-6 (3OT).

In the third game, the Jets got on the board first with a 30-plus-yard score by Mr. Darshon "Rabbit" McCullough. Shortly thereafter, the Pats got on the board with a safety cause by their defense that caught the Jets off-guard with a strong blitz (6-2). Later in the ball game, Mr. Branden Houston sprinted down the field for the Jets for a 55-yard score (13-2).

The Patriots were able to get in the endzone before the end of the game but were not able to snag the lead nor the victory. Final score: 13-9.

VARSITY
In the nightcap... the final game which featured special guest on the field from local high schools, it was all J-E-T-S. Coach Anthony had these guys focused and ready to go. the Jets got started on a fumble recovery by Mr. Frank Sandifer who scooped the ball up and dashed down the field for the quick score (6-0). Then right before the half, the Jets scored again on a soft pass to the endzone (13-0).
To conclude the contest, the Jets scored two more times including an interception that was return successfully.

An unfortunate situation occurred for the Patriots near the end of the third quarter when Mr. Carl Allen was ejected from the contest for unsportsman like conduct. With this ejection, the league states he must miss the final regular season contest. Markhams' final game is against conference rival and undefeated (Kankakee) Riverside. Final score: 25-0.
