ASNN365 - Week 3 told many stories this weekend. One thing is for sure, Eastside is for real as they swept University Park. Other notable match-ups include the cross-city classic between Matteson and Richton Park, and in the end, The Raiders snagged 3 out of the 4 games, and re-captured the traveling trophy between these two teams.
We (AmateurSports365.com), put a spot light on the 5th Annual Bi-City Classic featuring Hazel Crest Mustangs and Markham Patriots. In this game the Patriots have owned the Traveling Trophy for the first four years of its existence... Were the Mustangs able to snag the trophy away from the Patriots? Let's see...

This score stayed the same until late in the fourth quarter when the Mustangs ran a quarterback sneak to tie the score at 7. Well, in the Bi-City classic there can be 'no' ties... so both coaches decided to play this out in overtime. In overtime, the Mustangs scored stopped the Patriots from scoring and once they got the ball, they ran it in from 10 yards out for the victory. Final score: 13-7 OT. |

21-0.
Jr. VARSITY
Not to be outdone, the Patriot Jr. Varsity team wanted a victory too,
but it wouldn't be easy. The Mustangs defense stood toe-to-toe with the
Patriots throughout the contest, but in the end, the Patriots scored twice
and that was enough. They got on the board with a quarterback keeper run of
17 yards and the score by Terry Jones (7-0). They also scored again in the
fourth quarter. Final score: 13-0.
VARSITY
In the final contest of the day, the Patriots control the clock the entire
first quarter holding the ball well over 7 minutes in their opening drive.
In the end, they finally scored on a fancy pass play from Christopher Rainy
to Carl Allen (7-0). The Patriots got on the board again the second
quarter on a 76 yard run by Allen (14-0). They score one more time right
before half bringing the score to 21-0.
In the second half, the Patriots picked up where they left off as they got on the board once more with a quarterback option from 12 yards out. The Mustangs were determined to get on the board and was able to with a long run of their own 28-6. This proved not enough as the Patriots scored one final time to capture the victory as well as the traveling trophy for the 5th time in six years. Final score: 34-6 |
