Stop, Look, & Find...
Hello All,

I hope you are having an awesome weekend. Now is the time when most of you are planning for Christmas Parties and get-togethers with family. Whatever activities you indulge in, please be safe and use wisdom. The title of my message is strictly meant to evoke your thoughts about taking a minute or hours if necessary, to slow down and stop in order to look for and organize your most important financial paperwork. It is very important that you organize and store your bank statements, financial paperwork, previous years tax returns, life insurance policies...Did I say Life insurance policies?

Yes, I have encountered clients that absolutely do not know where any of their financial documents are and truly are not concerned about them until they need to conduct financial business beyond just going to see a bank teller every once in a while.
Do yourself and your family a favor and get ORGANIZED. There are plenty of stories about people who have passed away and someone in the family says, "I think they have an insurance policy but no one knows where it is or who the insurance company is" or " I think they had a pension but I don't know the name of the company." This is MORE COMMON than you know.
It is imperative that once you get your important financial paperwork in order that you share what kind of information it is, current details about it and where the information is securely stored with a close family member or friend.
A useful tool (non web-based) you can use is Carebinders, it is the most complete personal recordkeeping software available. Go to www.carebinders.com (coupon code MHI) and look into organizing everything that is important in your life. It may be a good gift for a family member. This software is not associated with the Internet.
It's funny, I just saw the new Sherlock Holmes movie and the villain kept record of all his "criminal financial exploits" in a 4 inch little red book. Needless to say, it came back to bite him in the end, it was stolen.
The New Year is around the corner, it is time to think about scheduling your annual financial review. You might say, " I don't have anything to review"...you might be surprised to know that you do have a lot to review i.e.. retirement, savings, insurance, budget and more.
Call or email me today for a free financial analysis. Let's start off the New Year together taking steps toward a better financial future, ask yourself, "What do I value most?"
I appreciate your feedback and would like to know if you are finding my "Tips" helpful and informative, call or email me your thoughts.
I also want to let you know that I am not just a consultant with respect to life insurance. I am available (no fee) to discuss your retirement, college savings, Medicare Benefits, Health/Disability /Critical Illness insurance.
***In the New Year I will also include Estate Consulting. Let your family and friends know that I am a resource available to them in the event that someone passes away and the family needs someone to consult with in regards to handling the business/financial affairs associated with the death.

I look forward to talking to you soon. Until then, be safe, use wisdom!

Regards,
