Did you need a College fund last week?

Hello All:
Labor Day weekend my family and I went to North Carolina to visit my brother, as well as, take a tour of Duke University and University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill).
While we toured the campuses I couldn't help but to think how wonderful it is must be to attend universities like these. They were wonderful, with so much to offer! I also kept wondering what it might cost to attend these schools. Madison (my daughter...preferred Duke!)

I won't get into the minute details, but if your child had entered either Duke or UNC this year, the tuition would be roughly $30k per semester. YES ....$30k per semester...THAT IS $60k a year!!!!!!!!!!

I asked in my subject line "Did you need a college fund last week?" because many parents (including one of my best friends dropped off their kids at College ....last week). Many parents are concerned and are asking themselves..."Wow, they got in to college, now how are we going to pay for this?"

Everyone is not going to get a full 4 year scholarship to the college or university of their choice. However, I encourage you to be proactive....if you have young children under the age of 10 right have to start your college planning NOW!

529's, IRA's, other forms of insurance are all viable solutions for college funding! Some have more flexibility than others, some have tax consequences and some limitations....let's explore your options and see what's best for you .
