Hello All:
I hope everyone is having a safe and enjoyable weekend thus far. I want to take a moment via this message to give a special note of appreciation to some people on this list (some are clients), that have taken the initiative to share my information with their family & friends or have made it possible for me to speak with some of their friends & family. A special shout out to Tiffany Jasper (of Tiff's Editing Cafe'), Da-Nay Macklin (Life Coach), Davetta "Dee" Collins (Dunamis Women Ministry), Steve Fitch (Amateur Sports Network and my cousin) and of course, a friend to all of us, Khalid Scott.

Ok, so in recent days, especially while it has been extremely hot, we all know that people notice people (their physiques, that is)...you know we have all seen  folks wearing short-shorts, tank-tops, biker shorts, we know people shed their clothes when it gets hot.
However, can you imagine if you saw a physically fit man or woman and you thought, "WOW! They are in great shape" - but they had a sign on their back that said ,"I am in great shape but I have heart disease or I have high blood pressure or my cholesterol is high"?

I have been mentioning that I will host a Health and Wealth seminar this fall, I have had a few people ask me, "Why health? What does that have to do with finances?"

Well, my friends, it has everything in the world to do with finances. Some of us who are Christians have heard, "What profit a man to gain the whole world, and lose his soul?" I agree with this and I also say, "What profit a man to gain wealth to prosper and he is in poor health?" It will pay for medical bills and his care, not for the enjoyment of his life!

Folks, by no means am I or have I ever been a health-nut , a fitness guru etc., but I do try my best to exercise weekly (love Zumba) and I am mindful of what I eat. I truly believe you are what you eat! All of us know people with some sort of health issues. I don't want to grow older and have to depend on prescription medication in order to stay alive. So many of us (especially African Americans) have diabetes or high blood pressure or cholesterol issues. These issues can be managed, if not, alleviated by diet and exercise. I was diagnosed with high blood pressure 3 1/2 years ago, a couple of years after I had my daughter and guess what? I am being weaned off it, why? because I told my doctor that I do not want to be on this medication for the rest of my life. The diet and exercise is working.

We have to watch what we are eating, I tell people that some of us are so mindful of what our children are eating, especially when they are under the age of 5, but for some reason, we get busy, we get off course and we all go back to what is easy. We don't take time to eat fruit, eat vegetables, and don't drink enough water...I am asking why???  We are killing ourselves with the food we eat and not exercising....it is really that simple.

Your health effects everything that is important to you,  and one way or another if you don't take the time to invest in your health, like you may be investing your money, it will catch up with you.

As a licensed financial consultant, I am vested in helping everyone I can to "win" with their money, however, it can be difficult to help you get the best premium on your life insurance, annuities, disability or health insurance etc., if you are in poor health. Poor health can adversely effect your pocket.

Let's start taking better care of ourselves folks!  Start walking outside, riding that bike that's been sitting in the garage, eating apples, grapes and vegetables....we can do it!

I love when Charlie Sheen said, "Winning!?!"..... I want us all to "WIN"!  If you have any questions or comments please let me know. Love you.

As always, be safe and use wisdom!
