Anthony Standifer, of Crete-Monee, is finally made is selection public...

... and he will be playing football this fall for Mississippi aka Ole Miss. Mr. Standifer made his selection at a seminar provided by GameTimePros.com in Oak Brook, Sunday night.

"I went down there and from the beginning it felt like home," Standifer said after making his announcement. "I fit in with everybody, the coaching staff, the community.

Standifer was ranked 45th nationally among cornerbacks by Rivals.com in the Class of 2012 and was one of the last players ranked this high to make a commitment.

"It's not a very big campus. Basically, everyone is going to know you and you're going to feel safe and comfortable."

Let's remember that he originally gave a committed to Michigan before reopening his recruiting, and from here, he narrow the schools down to Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, and of course, Ole Miss'.

"It's a lot of pressure off my shoulders," he said. "It's stressful. It wasn't easy, but it was worth it in the end."

During his time at Ole Miss, he recognizes that the team is rebuilding under first-year coach Hugh Freeze, and he will have to continue to work hard in order to prove himself.

Standifer had 32 solo tackles, 11 assists and four interceptions for the 10-1 Warriors last season after picking off nine passes as a junior. He was slowed by a shoulder injury late last season, but said he's been given the go-ahead to return to full activity.
