Where do you start.... many teams are facing their tough conference teams, while others have to dig deep for their first victories in order to put the team back on the right path for the playoffs.

DE LA SALLE (2-0) VS. MOUNT CARMEL (2-0) AT GATELY STADIUM
When: 7 p.m. Friday

Two undefeated teams face off... The Caravan has a heck of an 1-2 punch consisting of Brandon Greer and Draco Smith, and the Meteors will have their hands full stopping them. Speaking of the Meteors, if they have a chance to snag a 'W' RB Mikale Wilbon has been a workhorse. He has logged 247 yards and three touchdowns on 30 carries last week against Gordon Tech (30-22 victory). Also a win here puts Frank Lenti tied with Richards legend Gary Korhonen for most wins by an Illinois football coach with 315.

H-F (2-0) AT LINCOLN-WAY CENTRAL (1-1)

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

This is a big test for HF who comes in undefeated. QB Tim Williams, WR Gerald Butler and RB Sheldon Jones have been explosive. On the other side of the ball, LW Central will depend on Brett Ditchman to carry the load along with QB Cale Hayes, who will need to complete some passes in an effort to keep the chains moving.

T.F. SOUTH (1-1) AT OAK FOREST (2-0)
When: 7 p.m. Friday

T.F. South loves to open up their playbook with some trick plays (fake punt, flea-flicker, wildcat something, etc...), so the Bengals must be ready to defend this. RB Giovanni Canty (Bengals) will carry the load and must let his presence be felt and keep the ball out of the hands of Tevin Campbell, who scored four touchdowns last week against Rich Central (47-12 victory).

LOCKPORT (2-0) AT LINCOLN-WAY EAST (2-0)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Porters RB Dexter Taylor is averaging a shade more than 10 yards per carry. If he can average half that amount per carry the Porters might pull off the upset, especially if QB Billy Reed makes his much-anticipated return from an injury. Somehow, some way, Lockport must sustain drives and keep the Griffins’ high-powered offense on the sidelines. If not, East QB Blake Winkler, who has passed for 414 yards and seven TDs, will have a field day. WR Jelani Yancy is a top target of Winkler’s, averaging 18.8 yards per catch. Last week: Lockport 28, Plainfield North 21; Lincoln-Way East 49, Dunbar 15

RICHARDS (1-1) AT LEMONT (2-0)
When: 7 p.m. Friday

Richards can not get off to the same slow start they played last week against Morris (28-16 lost). QB Tommy Mister and RB Marcus Smith must have solid games for them in order to have a shot at a win. As for undefeated Lemont, RB Mike Anzalone is averaging nearly 12 yards per carry. QB Damon Aleman hasn’t been asked to do too much. However, he might need to pass the pigskin effectively to prevent the Bulldogs from keying on stopping the run. This may be their first real test for the season.
