GIRLS BASKETBALL
Hillcrest 45, Trinity 44
What a game for the Lady Hawks against the Blazers,
who obtained a victory on a near buzzer beater victory provided by
Jacquenae Foster who nailed a 3-pointer to give them a 1-point lead.
DePaul recruit and team anchor Uniquah Hampton snagged
the rebound and passed it to Foster, who slipped past a defender and
pulled up to shoot a few steps inside the 3-point line.
From here, coach John Maniatis didn't call a timeout in hopes of
making the Blazers' defense scramble for match-ups which proved
successful. "Hopefully this is a confidence-builder for her," Maniatis
said. "She wanted that clutch opportunity and she seized the moment."
"I was just looking to be
aggressive and try to find the open man," Foster said. "I
was the one who was open, so I just took the shot."

earlier, sophomore Megan Podkowa drilled a

rebounds for Trinity.
