ASNN365 - In the finally week of regular season, there's two teams on the bubble... Matteson Bears and Chicago Cardinals (PeeWee & Junior Varsity)... and well, they face off today to decide their faiths... what better way to resolve such a position.

Our game of the week was dedicated Saturday to the Widget bowl.

But on Sunday, we went to two separate games: Chicago at Matteson, and South Holland at Country Club Hills. We would like to thank both host teams for all of their hospitality.

WIDGETS

In the first game of the day, once they put the ball on the 40 yard line it was all Chicago. The Cardinals have a one-two-three punch that is simply amazing to watch featuring Mr. Tyian Miller, Jalen Collins and Mario Brown III.  Mr. Miller got the Cards on the board first with a quick punt return of 41 yards. But he wasn't done yet. He scored a total of four times in the contest... he had three scores before halftime including a nice 15 yard pass from Mr. Collins in the second half. WHEW! Not to be outdone,  Mr. Brown sprinted into the end zone on a 29  yard burst in the second half. Final score: 40-0.

PEEWEE
In a field position, defensive dog-fight, the Bears topped the Cards and made it to the playoffs.
Final score: 8-6.

Across town, the Cougars defeated the Jets by 1 point to complete their very first undefeated season. Their fate was sealed by a late interception shown below. Final score: 7-6.

Jr. VARSITY

In this contest, the Cougars put their defense on spotlight. On two separate occasions, they were able to not only strip the ball away from the Jets, but literally take the ball out of a runners hands. On the opening possession of the game, the Jets were threaten to score  and number 12 of the Cougars took the ball and ran it back over 70 yards for a score. On their next possession, the Cougars scored on a 40 yard dash by number 25 who somehow went from second gear to fifth gear all in one motion.

Going into the playoffs, the Cougars totally dominated this game. They also completed an undefeated season knocking off the Jets.  Final score: 38-6.

VARSITY

In the final contest, Coach Anthonys' high spirit showed through the players as the Jets were able to move the ball on the ground as well as the air, interrupting a string of victories by the Cougars. The Jets struck first on a punt  return that was returned for 40 plus yards. South Holland scored two more times, once a quick slant (shown below), another on a short goal line run making the score 19-0, before the Cougars could get on the board. They were able to get on the board a very hard run by Mr. Chu, but the Jets answered right back with a 48 yard pass from number 44 to number 10.  Final score: 26-6.

What a regular season for everyone! Thank you all for making Amateur Sports your portal for everything Will-Cook. We look forward to the playoffs and wish everyone the very best. See  you guys this weekend.
