ASNN - Wednesday evening, as I was sitting in the waiting area of a local chiropractor, my phone buzzed. A friend of mine asked me "if I heard?" I had no idea what he was talking about... First thing that came to mind was the Cam Newton story... All he told me was to go and check out Taylor Tucks' facebook page... Well, I did and all I can say is wow...

Another local girls basketball player  commits, orally at this time, to a national powerhouse... Bolingbrooks 6-foot-2 junior, Morgan Tuck made an oral commitment to Connecticut on an unofficial visit Wednesday.
Tuck is ranked number 12 in the 2012 class by ESPN HoopGurlz, played power forward the last two years. She helped lead the Raiders to consecutive Class 4A state championships, averaging 18.2 points and 7.5 rebounds last season. In July, Tuck helped guide the U.S. to the gold medal at the FIBA Under-17 World Championships in France.

Tuck attended number 1 Connecticut's game against number 2  Baylor on Tuesday. The Huskies extended the longest Division I women's basketball streak in history to 80 games by defeating the Bears on Tuesday.

In addition, she becomes the second women's basketball player from Illinois to ever commit to UConn coach Geno Auriemma. Montini's Michala Johnson is a freshman for the Huskies. Tuck's older sister, Taylor, signed with Illinois last week, and teammate Ariel Massengale signed with Tennessee.

Her coach, Tony Smith said Tuck should fit in nicely with the tradition-laden program and so do we.

We've personally witnessed Morgan's play... her physical ability is second to known at her position and Class (2012)... in fact, many thought she was older than what she really is due to her natural born abilities as well as court intelligence. She demonstrated leadership on a varsity team as freshmen. In short, congratulations and keep working hard!!!
