In game one, Mike Hearne pitched a complete game, 2-hitter for Marist, striking out 6, but took the loss off an unearned run. Notre Dame's Mark Angellini pitched the 4-hit shutout, striking out 5 for Notre Dame (8-7, 1-1). In game two, John McKevitt went the distance, allowing 5 hits and striking out 2. Cody Bohanek scored a run and Brian Polak had 2 hits and 2 stolen bases for Marist (6-10) in the split.

Carmel's Kathleen Felicelli was 2-for-4 with 2 home runs and 2 RBIs in game one. Amy Abel also homered in the win. Mallory Goulding was 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs and earned the win, striking out 6 on the mound for Joliet Catholic in game two.
