The victory was not easy especially considering the Lady Rockets were
short-handed, only seven players dressed. These players did not quit at any
point in the game. In fact, they closed the gap from a double-digit
deficit down to two points late in the third quarter. And on consecutive nights,
coach Brian Mays was able to get his team re-focused on the task at hand down
the stretch. The Lady Stars went on scoring run to secure the victory in fourth
behind Chicago State recruit Jasmine Collins, who lead all scorers with 22
points. She also snagged 12 boards.
Rich South finished the season with a record of is 20-5, 9-1 and Southland
conference champions.
